World Cup 2022: Round of 16 draw, dates and venues

Netherlands, Argentina, France and England have already booked their spots in the World Cup quarter-finals — but four last-16 matches are still to come. 

On Monday, surprise package Japan take on Croatia and favourites Brazil meet South Korea.

Group G winners Morocco come up against Spain on Tuesday and the round concludes later that day when Cristiano Ronaldo will look to inspire Portugal to victory over Switzerland.

The knockout phase got under way with Netherlands cruising to a 3-1 victory over the United States.

Louis van Gaal's men will face Argentina in the last eight after Lionel Messi inspired the South Americans to a 2-1 win over Australia.

Olivier Groud became France's all-time top scorer as they overcame Poland, while England brushed aside Senegal 3-0 following some hairy moments in the first half to set up a clash with Les Bleus.
