PSG confirm Enrique as head coach after Galtier departure

Paris Saint-Germain have confirmed Luis Enrique as their new head coach after the departure of Christophe Galtier.

Enrique stood down as Spain manager after their World Cup last-16 defeat to Morocco in December and takes on his first club role since leaving Barcelona in 2017.

The 53-year-old spent three seasons in charge of the Catalans, winning the Champions League once, LaLiga twice and the Copa del Rey on three occasions.

He takes over during an uncertain period for PSG, despite the club finishing top of Ligue 1 for the ninth time in 11 seasons in May.

Lionel Messi has left the French champions for Inter Miami, while the futures of Kylian Mbappe and Neymar are uncertain.
