Seagulls snap up Spain star Losada on long-term deal

Brighton have completed the signing of Spain midfielder Vicky Losada from Roma on a long-term deal.

Losada, 32, has played previously in the Women's Super League with both Arsenal and Manchester City — either side of a trophy-laden five years at hometown club Barcelona.

The 67-cap international helped Roma win the Serie A title last season after joining from City in January.

Seagulls boss Melissa Phillips said: "We are very happy to welcome Vicky to Brighton and Hove Albion.

"She'll bring an abundance of experience to the team both on and off the pitch in the new season ahead.

"She's achieved much success in her career and that will help drive the winning mentality within our squad.

"We are certain that her knowledge of the game will add to the identity that we are continuing to build as a group."

During a hugely successful career, Losada has won the Women's Champions League with Barca in 2021 as well as eight league titles in both Spain and Italy.

The creative midfielder is Brighton's second summer arrival after forward Pauline Bremer joined from Wolfsburg.
